Day 4: What Grows in the Dark
Scripture:
Ephesians 5:13 -- "But everything exposed by the light becomes visible--and everything that is illuminated becomes a light."
Have you ever kept a question hidden because you were afraid of how people would react? Maybe you feared rejection. Maybe you were told it's dangerous to doubt. So instead of asking, you stayed quiet--and the silence grew heavier.
The truth is, what grows in the dark often becomes distorted. Shame. Isolation. Mistrust. But when we bring those questions into the light, God can work with them. The church should be a safe place for asking, wrestling, and learning--not a place of fear.
Reflection:
Is there something you've been hiding or afraid to speak out loud? What would happen if you brought it to light?
Prayer:
Father, give me courage to be honest--with myself, with others, and with You. Help me believe that nothing I bring to You is too heavy. Amen.
